Considering the Hittite ruins around Kahramanmaraş Castle, it is said that it was built in the late Hittite period, between the 9th century BC and the 8th century, and it is also said that it was built in the Roman Period, between the 1st century BC and the 2nd century AD, based on the masonry technique of the walls.

Inside the castle, there is an inscription showing that Yavuz Sultan Selim had the castle rebuilt in 1509 and a repair inscription dated 1644 showing that the castle was repaired during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent.

I thought it was Ankara Castle because it looked high, but it was easy to climb. There were also people going up there with a car from a dessert shop. All of Maraş is visible under your feet and unfortunately the only thing visible are unplanned settlements and ugly buildings. You must see this castle, which is of great historical importance.
