Balıkesir Clock Tower is a work built on the hillside in the Municipality Park in Balıkesir.

According to the inscription on the entrance gate of the tower, it was built with 5 floors by the Governor of Silistria, Girit-i Zade Mehmet Pasha, in 1827 (h. 1243). It was made using the plan of the large alarm clock found in the city of Silistra, and its bell was supplied from Silistra. The work is compared to the Galata Tower in terms of its structure. The Clock Tower was destroyed in an earthquake in 1897. The collapsed tower was rebuilt by Governor Ömer Ali Bey in 1901. In 1962, its inscription was repaired.

The tower, built with 5 floors, is 20 meters high. The fact that there is no difference between the photographs in the Hüdavendigâr yearbook (h.1325) and Ircıca’s archive and the tower built today shows that the tower was modernized in accordance with the original.
