City park with a central fountain and shaded paths, as well as a statue of the 19th-century writer Ziya Pasha.

It was designed according to the zoning plan prepared for Adana by urban planner Hermann Jansen in the early years of the Republic, and was put into service on April 23, 1935, as the second largest park of the city after Ulus Park. It was built on 47 thousand square meters. It is a symbolic park identified with the republican period, where various ceremonies and meetings have been held since its opening. It is also used by pedestrians for crossing between two boulevards.

The swimming pool planned to be located in Atatürk Park was built in 1938. After the opening of Ziyapaşa Boulevard in the 1960s, the swimming pool remained outside the park boundaries. A new swimming pool was built in 2009 on the site of the swimming pool that was demolished in 2008.

Adana Youth Palace was built in the southwest of the park by architect Demirtaş Ceyhun in 1964, and was demolished in the 1990s.

There was also a small zoo in the period. Atatürk Park is home to many bird species. The most common species are the Arabian nightingale, the pigeon, the dove, and the blackbird. Egyptian fruit bat and squirrel are among the living species seen in Ataturk Park.

This park in Küçükçekmece, Kartaltepe district feels like an oasis in such a noisy and chaotic big city. It is very nice to wander around the lush, clean, well-maintained track in a quiet environment.

Adana Atatürk Park was always in my childhood.I visited

5.0/ 5

Adana Atatürk Park was a place that I visited frequently during my childhood and that gave me peace apart from the crowds of the city… Although there have been some changes in the park, it still seems peaceful and beautiful to me… This year, when I went there for the Orange Blossom Festival, it was because the concert venue was here. I really enjoyed spending time here for a week… Events similar to those we encountered during the Rio Carnival and which we only watched on television were organized here… I hope these events will continue without losing anything of their value…

There was a toilet problem

5.0/ 5

We attended for the first time and it was nice, but unfortunately there was a toilet problem. The municipality should have placed at least 4 portable and free toilets there. We waited in line for half an hour and paid 5 liras.

Beautiful

5.0/ 5

It is located in a beautiful location in the Kurtuluş District of Seyhan district, a short walk from the city center. You can have a good time in the park, which also hosts an impressive statue of Ziya Pasha, one of Adana’s most famous historical characters, on the walking paths and children’s playgrounds among the flower gardens. The park, decorated with hundreds of different plant species, is also known as the Tree Museum due to this feature. You can take a short break in the country gardens of Adana Atatürk Park, where you can also visit Turkey’s first nursery, and relax by sipping your coffee. The inner city park, where you can relax away from the crowd and noise, is perfect for those looking for serenity.

  • Toilets:Not enough. There is a coffee house in the park. You can use the toilet there. I remember it being paid.
  • Child park:Picnics are definitely not allowed. Of course, you can do it to have a small meal with your circle of friends. However, in your mind, barbecue etc. If there are things, forget them immediately.
