This building, which was first used as the Fortified Area Command, then the Naval Units Command and the Military Lodging, was converted into a museum as the Painting and Photography Gallery in 1982.

It is an open-air museum located within the Çimenlik Castle, which was built during the reign of Mehmet the Conqueror to ensure the security of the Bosphorus and played a very important role in the Çanakkale victory.

unfortunately it is not valid

The castle is a magnificent structure, it has a 3-storey exhibition area and believe me, it will give you goosebumps. While visiting the castle, you also see the place where the cannonball was fired from the Queen Elizabeth ship and remained unexploded on the northern city wall.

Be sure to visit the castle built by Sultan Suleiman. Children in military costumes will fascinate you with a small presentation and skit show, as if you are going back to those years.

A must-visit museum. You can see the Uluç Ali Reis submarine, the Nusret Minelayer replica, the Castle, the killing machines used in wars and visit the Turkish naval history exhibition in the Castle.
