The museum, which has a wide usage area by combining two separate mansions, has a kitchen, a warehouse, three living rooms, two corridors, an intermediate room and a sink on the ground floor. Entrance to the ground floor is provided through a double-winged wooden door. On the first floor, which can only be accessed by an internal staircase from one of the mansions, there is a guest room, mother-in-law’s room, children’s bedroom, pantry, intermediate hall, section where local rug looms are exhibited, bride-groom’s room, guest room and kitchen. The first floor has two double doors providing entrance and exit. The attic was expanded after restoration and divided into two large halls. There are ten showcases in these halls where ethnographic works are exhibited. The works belong to the Ottoman period and the recent period.
Gümüşhane İkizevler City Museum, opened to visitors in July 2006, is a typical example of the historical Gümüşhane Mansions. The mansion, which was built in 1920, was restored between 2004-2006. The building, which consists of a ground floor, first floor and attic floor in the garden, was built using the wooden frame infill technique and is plastered on top. The entrance to the museum, which consists of two separate mansions, is provided through wooden double-winged doors on the ground floor and the 1st floor. The bottom of the first floor, which has a ½ protrusion on the front, is supported by wooden beams and has a rectangular window opening. This place, called ‘under the eaves’ in the local language, was used as a room and was arranged as a service area. The roof of the building, whose southwestern façade is adjacent, is hipped and covered with sheet metal sheets.
It was formed in the center of Gümüşhane by the combination of two mansions.
The works in the museum belong to the Ottoman period and the recent period.
It is the only mansion in Gümüşhane used as a museum open to visitors. There are valuable pieces in the exhibition such as old weapons, coins and local clothes.

It’s a great museum. I would like to thank Security Osman Şatır for his interest.
