The palace, which took ninety-nine years to build, was completed in 1784. It bears traces of Seljuk architecture. Ahmet-i Hani, who wrote the work ‘Mem and Zin’, spent part of his life in this palace. It contains a mosque, tomb, library, cellars, dormitories, harem and greeting rooms. The first place you should see if you come to Ağrı.

Transportation is quite difficult

4.0/ 5

It is quite difficult to reach, but it is a historical place that should definitely be visited. Especially the fact that it was the first building with central heating and that such a palace was built in such a place reveals the feudalism of that period. While the pashas were sitting in this palace, one cannot help but wonder what the ordinary people were like in the Doğubeyazıt plain below. It is a valuable and rare place in this region with its wall engravings and architectural structure reflecting that period. A must see.
