Green urban area with a panoramic balcony overlooking the sea and the Roman stone tower.
Karaalioğlu Park, one of the first places that comes to mind when Antalya city center is mentioned, exposes the Bey Mountains and Antalya Bay in all their glory.
The construction of the park started in 1941, during the time of the then governor Haşim İşcan. After three years of work, the park was opened under the name İnönü Park, and over the years it received this name from Karaalioğlu, one of the owners of the land where the park was built. It is also known among the public as Karaoğlan Park, mostly dedicated to Bülent Ecevit.
The master plan of Karaalioğlu Park was designed using the Perge Ancient City as an example. There are three streets parallel to each other in the east-west direction towards the sea. These streets end with three observation decks on the seashore. Watching the sunrise and sunset from the miradors with the fascinating view of Antalya is a unique experience.
Located on the cliffs, Karaalioğlu Park was established on an area of 140 thousand square meters. 54 different bird species live in the park, which is covered with flower, tree and plant species reflecting the flora of Antalya. It is possible to come across species such as ‘Green Parrots’, which are under protection, as well as Bush Nightingale, Bee-eater, Scops Bird and Little Dove.
The park, decorated with special sculpture works in the late 1970s, offers pleasant moments to the city’s residents. If you wish, you can do your morning and evening exercise in the park. You can have a nice time at the picnic tables under the trees with your food and drink, or sit on the benches and relax while admiring the beautiful view. You can take a pleasant break from the day in the tea gardens in the park. You can watch Konyaaltı Beach and the cliffs from the observation decks, and explore Kaleiçi Streets by continuing through the park towards Hıdırlık Tower.
