The church, which was built in 1230 in the name of St. Francis near its first location, Galata, was rebuilt in the same place after 2 major earthquakes and fires. A church with a very old history.. This church is protected by buildings.. When you look carefully while passing in front of the buildings, you see the entrance door.. Visiting the St. Anthony Church, which shines like a pearl in the historical texture of Istanbul, was truly a fascinating experience. The church captivates you with its magnificent architecture that bears traces of the Ottoman period. The doors decorated with flawless workmanship that greet you at the entrance invite you inside and take you on a journey into the depths of history.

The details inside are truly impressive. This sacred place, built in the Gothic style, has been transformed into an art gallery with the frescoes and stained glass used in its interior decoration. You can feel the scent of history in every detail and the walls of the church are like an encyclopedia reflecting Istanbul's past.

The silence and peace of the church offers visitors a meditative experience. It is truly a blessing to find this peaceful temple in the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. Also, walking in the narrow streets around the church gives the feeling of being lost in history.

The St. Anthony Church is a symbol of the cultural and historical richness of Istanbul and I recommend everyone who visits the city to discover this beauty. It is a magnificent place both in terms of architecture and historical value!
