It is Turkey’s first and only mining museum. It was established to perpetuate the culture of hard coal mining, the most important production source of Zonguldak, with a museum and to introduce the story of 200 years of hard coal mining.

It was put into service in 2016. In the museum; Documents of hard coal mining, newspapers reflecting the developments of the period, tools used, communication tools and mining technology of the period, hard coal and coal types and fossils are introduced.

Located in Merkez Çınartepe District, Bülent Ecevit Street, 33 sheet, 129 island and 55 parcel, and allocated on behalf of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of our Ministry with the letters of the Ministry of Finance, General Directorate of National Real Estate, dated 29.08.2006 and numbered 38314, 6.932,79 m2 Zonguldak Mining Museum, built on the area, was opened on 09.12.2016.

In addition to the museum building in the area in question, there is a Training Center belonging to the TTK Occupational Safety and Training Department, a building containing workshops and workshops used by the Museum and Training Center staff, and a security booth at the entrance of the area.

  The garden was partially used as an exhibition area. In addition, the process of moving the Mining Martyrs Monument in Zonguldak Port to the museum garden continues.

  The Museum Building consists of a foyer, exhibition halls, meeting hall, warehouses and administrative unit rooms.

Coal-City Relationship was discussed in the foyer area. After a 10-minute introduction of Zonguldak, visitors are given historical and technical information about coal mining in Zonguldak.

Materials and educational books on occupational safety, topography, health and social care are exhibited in the second floor showcases.

The third floor explains the coke derivatives of coal, fossils and the formation of coal.

Zonguldak Mining Museum (ZMM) is located in the Zonguldak Basin and in the city center of Zonguldak province, the industrial pioneer of the country. The museum building was built on an area of ​​7000 m2 and was opened as Turkey's first Mining Museum on 09.12.2016.

Zonguldak Mining Museum is closed on New Year's Eve, the first day of religious holidays and Mondays; It is open to visitors between 08.30 - 18:00 on weekdays and 10:00 - 18:00 on weekends and public holidays.

Entry is free with a museum card.
If you don't have a card, they give you a museum card for 60 lira.

There is a 10-minute introduction at the first entrance. After the introduction that briefly summarizes Zonguldak and its black diamond, you learn about the history and development of mining in the historically divided section.

The real mine experience, which takes place at certain hours, is not subject to an extra fee.

A very beautiful and meaningful museum. The inside is neat and decent. Employees are concerned. Entry is free with a museum card. There are representative descents in the furnaces at certain times of the day. Definitely a place to go and see. Parking is available, toilets are clean. transportation is easy.
